About Me

About Me

I have a corporate background, working for 18 years as an accountant specialising in risk advisory. The more I climbed the corporate ladder, the more interested I became in the people side of my role. I was passionate about helping my staff learn and develop and got a real buzz from seeing my staff succeed and progress within the company. I introduced the graduate trainee induction and training programme, as well as a mentoring and coaching programme for all levels of staff.

That passion has stayed with me, now that I am enjoying my second career.  Whether this is helping my clients learn to overcome their fears, grow in confidence or develop new coping strategies and more fulfilling relationships.

I have worked with clients that have experienced a wide range of personal issues, including anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, loss and bereavement, feeling ‘stuck’, relationship and work issues, and many more.

I have also helped many clients make real changes in their lives through hypnotherapy. Whether this was to help with stress and anxiety, habits, fears or phobias, improving confidence and self-esteem, weight management, or stop smoking.

My Approach

I would describe my working style as being respectful and collaborate.  Whilst I am supportive, empathetic, and compassionate, I can also be very direct and challenging.

I offer bespoke therapy tailored to each individual and couple, assisting you in exploring and understanding your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I have a vast array of tools and techniques that have been incredibly beneficial in helping improve the lives of those that I work with. I will help you find new ways to solve problems, grow in confidence and develop more meaningful relationships with yourself and others.

I believe the relationship between us is the key to supporting you in your journey.  Research suggests that the therapeutic relationship itself is more important for a good outcome than the theories your counsellor favors. It is therefore important for you to choose a counsellor that makes you feel safe, accepted and treated with respect and perhaps also challenges you in a positive constructive way. This is why I offer a complimentary 15 minutes telephone introduction to explore your needs and for you to be sure you feel comfortable talking to me.

I also offer supervision to counsellors and trainee counsellors.
